Obituary for Fred Hamilton "Uncle Jack" Wheless

Fred Hamilton "Uncle Jack"  Wheless
Fred Hamilton “Uncle Jack” Wheless, 95, died Monday, September 18, 2017. A native of Crawford, he was the son of the late Henry Lafayette Wheless and Siddie Belle Bridges Wheless. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven siblings: Claude Eberhardt, Ruby Turner, Edna Bridges, Henrietta Bryan, Mae Tiller, Julia Walton, Johnny Wheless and Dot Wilder. He retired from the Georgia Forestry Commission after 30 years, was member of Bethany Baptist Church in Lexington where he served as deacon for many years. He served in the US army during WWII. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 2PM at Bethany Baptist Church, 3193 Centerville Road, Lexington, GA, with Rev. Steve Bingham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
