Obituary for Margaret Childs

Margaret Eloise Childs, 101, of Watkinsville, died Saturday, June 16, 2018. Ms. Eloise was born in Jefferson GA to the late James B. and Maggie Belle Mayo. She was a long time resident of East Point GA, and retired from Rich’s Department Store. Eloise was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Paul Childs, and brothers, George Mayo, Tymon Mayo, and Charles Mayo. She is survived by her son, Hiram Paul Childs Jr. (Sheila), grandchildren, Julia Erdmier (Casey), Sarah Drummond (Adam), and Joseph Childs, and great grandchildren, Ethan and Evie Erdmier, sister-in-law, Sallie Jo Mayo, and four nieces.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Lord and Stephens Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hwy 53 Watkinsville GA 30677. Rev. Bill Ricketts and Rev. Doug Nix will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta at 3:00 P.M.
