Obituary for Betty Pittman

Betty Hayes Pittman, 79, of Bishop, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Born in Adel, GA to the late Willie E. Hayes and Hattie Taylor Hayes, Betty was also preceded in death by her son, James Alan Pittman.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Pittman Lally (Timothy), Brenda Pittman Elwell (Kevin), sisters, Jean Moore, Dorothy Hughes, Jackie Johnson, Shirley Hayes, Wanda Kent (Sammy), Kathy Bennett (Jim), grandchildren, Elizabeth Lally, Vince Lally, Julia Elwell, Michael Elmore, Julia Elmore, and her former husband and friend, James Pittman.

Betty grew up and lived most of her life in Valdosta, Georgia. In her latter years she moved to Conyers and then Bishop, Georgia to live with her daughters.
She was an expert seamstress and enjoyed making quilts and sewing for her family. Betty was an avid reader and bird watcher. She loved all animals, nature, and especially her family and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 17th at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West. Chaplain Eric Buffington will be officiating.
