Obituary for James Potochnic

James Francis Potochnic, 81, of Athens GA, died peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2017 with his two daughters by his side. James was born in Lockport, Illinois to the late John and Anna Potochnic. He is also preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne and son, Kenneth Potochnic. James is survived by his children, Jennifer Potochnic (Michael Launius) and Meredith Potochnic, siblings, John Potochnic, Diane Derickson, and Richard Potochnic, and grandson, Jacob Potochnic. He enjoyed conquering daily crossword puzzles, gardening and spending time with his two loveable canine companions. James cherished traveling to Mexico with friends and family. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Parishes in Athens GA and Joliet, IL and a proud veteran of the United Stated Army.

A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 18, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
