Obituary for Boyce Lee Jaynes

Boyce Lee Jaynes
Boyce Lee Jaynes, a lifelong resident of Athens, passed away November 30, 2017. He was the son of Curtis Jaynes Sr. and Evie Lee Patterson Jaynes, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Fostene Jaynes.
He is survived by his wife, Amber Jaynes; his brother Curtis (Pat) Jaynes Jr.; sister Joyce Doster; aunts: Doris Dawson, Katie Patterson, Donnie Mae Carithers; childhood friend R. E. Thornton, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Boyce was particularly close to his wife’s family in Ohio, who accepted him as one of their own.
He was a proud member of the Athens High School Class of ’69, ROTC, and the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. He enjoyed traveling and volunteering. He worked at the Georgia Theatre and the Athens Drive-In during his teens. He attended UGA and graduated from Athens Technical College. He was an “I.T. guy” and loved his work. His career was with the Clarke Co. School District, Bensons, and St. Mary’s Hospital.
Special thanks to Dr. Mary Bond and nurse Ruby, Dr. Michael Steadham, ACC Adult Daycare, Silverleaf and Inspiring Hospice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Arnoldsville Cemetery on Monday, December 4.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
