Obituary for Robert Cunningham

Robert “Red” Lamar Cunningham, 68, died September 16, 2017.

A lifelong resident of this area, he was a son of the late Mary Elizabeth Elder and James David Cunningham. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Stanley and Cary Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham retired from Athens-Clarke County School District and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will follow at Farmington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, June Peck Cunningham; daughter, Megan Cunningham, both of Bishop; sister, Rosemary Wilson; brother, Terry Cunningham, both of Arnoldsville; several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
