Laurie Glenn Paul, 90, went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2017. Born in Oglethorpe County on May 1, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William Eugene and Jennie Lou Tiller Glenn and step-daughter of the late Capers (Capie) Glenn. She was the beloved wife of 59 ½ years of the late Howard Maurice Paul. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sons Glenn Maurice Paul and Richard Barry Paul, daughter in law Linda Martin Paul, brother W. E. Glenn and sisters, Marigene G. Moon and Carolyn G. Wright.
She is the loving mother of four children: Lavenia (Jim) Wills, Dennis (Joyce) Paul, Patti Paul and Russ (Tammy) Paul; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild: sisters; Dorothy G. Hawley and Anne G. Campbell and brothers, Gilmer Glenn, Douglas Glenn, Larry Glenn and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 11AM at Glade Baptist Church. Her grandson, Rev. Derek Paul and Rev. David Burt will officiate. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
