Obituary for William Robert "Bob" Fulmer

William Robert (Bob) Fulmer, 73, died unexpectedly on April 1, 2017.
Mr. Fulmer was born in Dublin, GA to Oren Preston and Sara Windham Fulmer. He graduated from Lanier High School in Macon and the University of Georgia with a geology major. He married Camille Schaefer of Macon. His first career was with the United States Department of Agriculture which was interrupted by service in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant. After serving three years, he returned to his career with the USDA and worked for about 30 years. The second career was an Environmental Specialist with the EPD. In 2005 Mr. Fulmer began working with the Soil and Water Commission and continued with this position until the present time. Mr. Fulmer was recognized in 2014 with a regional award of merit for his work on watershed dams and in 2017 for superior professional support to conservation districts.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Camille. They have 2 children, Josh (Amy) Fulmer and Joy Fulmer. Bob especially enjoyed his grandsons, Avery, Jackson, and Landon. Bob has one brother, Preston Thomas Fulmer. He enjoyed all outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, and water sports at Lake Sinclair.
The family will receive friends at Lord and Stephens, WEST, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Services will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at Watkinsville First Baptist Church with Rev. Carlos Sibley officiating.
