Condolences

Condolence From: Amy Marek Swindle
Condolence: I love social media in that I learned one of my favorite teachers, Mrs. Quarterman, has passed and I can share my wonderful memories of her with her sons. I had Mrs. Quarterman in the second grade at Glen Haven, must have been 1964/65. She was absolutely one of my favorite teachers and I have such fond memories of her class! I recently thought of her and a segment we did in class on learning birds; Robins, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles, etc. I learned ALL my birds from her and still remember them to this day. A good teacher can make all the difference in a child's life and Mrs. Quarterman was that kind of teacher. I can only imagine the impact she had on her students in all those years of teaching. What an accomplished woman, as I read about her life. As a second grader, I only knew I LOVED her as my teacher ! My sympathy at the loss of your mother, but what joy in knowing what an impact she had on the lives of her students. Well done, Mrs. Quarterman. Amy Marek Swindle

Condolence From: Rick and Nicki Basinger
Condolence: Rusty, Doug and Russ,

Rick and I are so sorry for the loss of your sweet Dottie. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She and our mother were great friends for years sharing many laughs and fond memories on their trips to St. Simons Island – riding with the top down with their straw hats on their heads. She truly enjoyed life! She will be missed! Much love and prayers to all of you.

Condolence: I am so very sorry for your loss. I know words do little at a time like this, but I just wanted to share a few promises, from the Bible, that have always given me hope when coping with the loss or absence of a loved one. May these scriptures bring you a measure of comfort and assure you of God's love. Job 14:14,15; Isaiah 25:8,9; Revelation 21:3-5

Condolence: Dorothy Quarterman's passing seems nearly impossible, since she was so full of life and laughter. I have such dear and fond memories of her when my Herb and I would be lucky enough to share a nibble and drink with Dorothy and Doug on St Simons Island. She would regale us with stories of her life with Tallman, or as Doug still refers to him, "Daddy". When Doug and his mother together talked of Tallman and his plane, you felt like you were onboard as well with the adventure of the Quartermans! I love Doug like a brother from a different mother and meeting and getting to know Dorothy over the past few years, was truly a gift. Like Frank Sinatra, Dorothy lived life her way. A true class act. She will be missed, but her lilting laughter will remain in my heart and by having known her, I know my dear Doug better. Herb and I adored her! Our hearts feel your great loss and you are in our thoughts. Love, Sarah and Herb

Condolence: so sorry for your loss! Dottie was such a dear and precious woman to have known. She was so proud of her boys and grandson. When cleaning for her she would talk very proud of her family and her life as a teacher, mother and friend. She spoke to us also about the book club and red hat club. I was so honored to have known such a precious woman. Praying for family for comfort and strength. Heaven has truly got a new angel God Bless you all
