Edna Sandiford Underwood, 90, died March 24, 2014.
A native of Mystic, GA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Aithee Wynn Sandiford . She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Clayton Roberts in 1947 and her second husband, James Marion Underwood in 2005. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tommy Underwood in 1975.
Mrs. Underwood lived in the Athens area for eleven years and was a member of Watkinsville First Christian Church. She lived in Tifton since 1946 and was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Tifton and was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Tifton. She was owner and operator of a floor covering business in Tifton for eighteen years and was a substitute teacher in Tifton for twenty years.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Tift Memorial Gardens with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating.
Survivors include three children, Larry W. Roberts, Karen Finnerty of Watkinsville and Cindy Fuller of Ellijay; sister, Zelda Spicer of Irwinville; grandchildren, Jennifer Roberts (Scott) Brazinski, Clayton (Patti) Roberts, Michael Finnerty (Alison Evans), Kristen Finnerty (Matt) Bays, Bandy Fuller; great grandchildren, Landon Brazinski, Colby Brazinski, Eliana Roberts, Gregory Bays and Chandler Bays; extended family member, Veronica Hunter; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 28, 2014 at Lord and Stephens, WEST from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
