Obituary for Julius L. "Jake" Guest

Julius L. "Jake"  Guest
Julius L. “Jake” Guest, 103, of 1291 Cedar Shoals Drive, Athens, GA entered into rest on Friday, June 29th, 2018. Mr. Guest was the son of Elisha N. “Booty” Guest and Sletie Victoria Jones Guest of Winder, GA. He was born in Winder, GA and moved to Athens when he was 3 years old. Mr. Guest lived most of his life in Athens, Georgia, where he was retired from the United States Postal Service.
Mr. Guest served his country in World War II with The Mighty Eighth Army Air Force. He was a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church and the Glory Sunday School Class.
Mr. Guest was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances Carter Guest, and second wife, Louise Simmerson Parker Guest, his siblings Wiliford N. Guest, Annette Hansford, Dot Butler and Christine Nelson.
Survivors include step sons, Thomas W. Parker (Sandra) of Rayle, GA, William D. Parker III, (Barbara) Athens, GA, ten step grandchildren, one great step grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Lord & Stephens East on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 2:00pm, family will receive guests from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beech Haven Baptist Church Glory Sunday School Class or Gideons International or National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, P.O.Box 1992, Savannah, GA 31402.
