Obituary for James E. Jackson

James E.  Jackson
James “Jim” E. Jackson, 88 of Athens, passed away June 7, 2018. He was the son of the late Jesse & Christine Jackson; also husband of the late Mrs. Martha Ellen Jackson. He was a member of the Life Church of Athens. Mr. Jackson was a devoted husband of many years to Martha, a devoted father and grandfather. James faith in god was at the center of his life he loved Jesus and people. Mr. Jackson was a Captain in the United States Army. In addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by his sister, Grace Dennington.
Services are Sunday, June 10, 2018, 3:00pm at Lord & Stephens, East Chapel with Pastors Nolan Wood and Tim Vaughn officiating. The family will visit from 2:00pm until servicetime. The interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include: daughter, Cheryl (Barry) Black; sons, Jesse Jackson and Michael (Daphne)Jackson; brothers, David (Joyce)Jackson and Bobby (Barbara)Jackson; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, several nieces,nephews and cousins.
