Obituary for Harry Phillips

Harry J. Phillips, 80, of Watkinsville, entered his heavenly home Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

A native of Oconee County, Mr. Phillips was the son of the late Jewell Paul and Maude Wilson Phillips. Mr. Phillips was retired from A&P Grocery. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member and deacon of Antioch Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Harry Todd Phillips; brothers, John, Otis and Aubry Phillips; sisters, Ruby Nunn and Gertie Alewine.

Mr. Phillips is survived by his loving and devoted wife of forty-three years, Cherie Phillips of Watkinsville; sister, Sara McElroy; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Darren McElroy, Randy Phillips, Ronald Phillips, Gary Reynolds and Andrew Wynn. Honorary pallbearers will be the Watkinsville Coffee Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hydrocephalus Association at www.hydroassoc.org.

Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
