Condolence From: Jo Anne & Doug Miller
Condolence: We were out of the country when we received the sad news of Jim's passing. So glad that I had e-mailed him about a week before we left and that I heard back from him. As I have said before he was the "rock" for all the Mangum family and that itself was a major tribute. Those yearly calendars he sent out to all was a blessing. A very special talent Jim had for his beautiful photography. We will miss him but we know he is at peace and did not suffer long!

Condolence: I am very sorry for your loss. It is not an easy time to go through. Talking about it with someone always helps, and their is no one better than God, he even gives us in the Bible Hope in John 5:28, 29 where he promises to bring back to life our loved ones. And in Revelation 21:4 he promises us a better future where we won't suffer no more. To know more visit jw.org

Condolence: I was so very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Jenkins. I was a student at Boiling Springs High School (BSHS) in Spartanburg School District#2 when Dr. Jenkins was our superintendent. He was a caring, wonderful superintendent who was a great listener and a terrific supporter of students. During a time when we did not have equitable access to Advanced Placement courses in our district, and at the request of students, he worked hard to expand opportunities for these courses across our two high schools. I also remember vividly one Friday night when we BSHS students travelled to a neighboring rival high school in another district to participate in a state play-off football game. On our way back to our bus, we started getting pelted with rocks by the fans of the losing team. He ran in the middle of the melee, made sure we were all safely on the bus, stood up for us and calmed the crowd. It took a great deal of courage and character to do this and he served as a great example not only for the students present but for all of those who witnessed his bravery. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family but please take comfort in knowing that he influenced scores of students to be better people and to contribute to improving their communities.

Condolence: To all of the Jenkins family, I am so sorry to learn of the death of Mr. Jenkins. I was fortunate to have had him as my Little League Baseball coach in Swansea, SC almost 60 years ago (back in about 1959/1960). He was a wonderful young coach at that time. I remember that he was able to convince my father to make the monetary sacrifice to purchase a new baseball glove for me if I were to have good success in my Little League play. I have wondered over the years where Mr. Jenkins was and wish I could have spoken with him in later years and let him know how much I appreciated having had him as a coach and mentor. Now I know that he was blessed with a wonderful family and career.

Condolence: Like many others, I have very good memories of Jim during his years of teaching at Chesterfield High School. He stopped by to see me and my husband in our place of business in Columbia quite a number of years ago. Then we reconnected via email in later years. He was a fine man and will be missed by so many. I will keep all of his family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
RIP

Condolence: Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of Jim Jenkins. As residents of Chesterfield, SC, we saw Jim frequently on his return visits to Chesterfield. On one of his last trips, he gave me a DVD of Chesterfield History. We will miss seeing and talking to him, but we will continue to have him in our memories. He was truly a fine person, and loved his hometown and friend here. RIP Jim.
