Obituary for John Tranum Veasey Jr.

John Tranum  Veasey Jr.
John T. “Johnny” Veasey, Jr., 55, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Born in Columbus, GA, Johnny was the son of John Veasey, Sr. and Cuvie Mills Veasey. Johnny’s long-time four-legged companion, Cheeseburger, preceded him in death. He was a painter and had attended Covenant Presbyterian Church. He is survived by two daughters: Shalon (Matt) Gillespie of Ellerslie and Kandy Veasey of Smith Station, AL; sisters; Fay (Charles) Snider and Virginia (Terry) Windham; five grandchildren: Jasmine Veasey, Jadon Gillespie, Nehemiah West, Adelyn Gillespie and Amelia Gillespie; close friends: Danielle Mann, Mark Meeler and Becky Henderson and four-legged companion, Tia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Athens, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1065 Gaines School Road, Athens, GA 30605.
