Judy Kathryn Fowler, 71, of Athens, died Saturday, February 10, 2018. Judy was born in Plant City, FL to
the late Powell McRae Johnson and Ruby Lee Hiers Johnson. Judy retired from the Oconee County
School System where she taught. Ms. Fowler was an educator, quilter, loved to shop, and was a friend to
everyone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Willard Fowler. She is
survived by her children, Matthew (Dixie) Fowler and Amy (Mathew) Knisely, sisters, Claudra Mathews
and Caroline Worthington, and granddaughters Alaini and McRae Knisely who affectionately referred to
her as “ Granser”.
A memorial service for Ms. Fowler will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Philothea
Greek Orthodox Church.
