Obituary for Patsy Aycock

Patsy L. Aycock, 74, of Watkinsville passed away Friday, February 9, 2018. Born March 21, 1943, she was a life-long resident of Oconee County and a member of Ray’s United Methodist Church. Patsy was the daughter of the late Cliff and Nell Lanier.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Perry G. Aycock, and her brother, Walter Lanier. Survivors include her children Scott (Amy) Aycock and Christy (Jerry) Wehunt, all of Watkinsville. Grandchildren are Camden and Ashton Aycock and Brayden Wehunt. Siblings include Barbara (Doyle) Dodd of Oconee County and Faye Lanier of Athens-Clarke County and several nieces and nephews.

Patsy was employed as a dental assistant with Dr. Will Kimsey of Athens in earlier years. Most of her service was with the Oconee County Nutrition Program where she was at Oconee County Primary School for over 15 years. She loved the interaction with the children, always looking after and making sure her “babies” were taken care of.

A celebration of Patsy’s life will be held Monday, February 12 at 3:00 p.m.at the chapel of Lord and Stephens West Funeral Home. Pallbearers include: Chris Dodd, Doyle Dodd, Dustin Wheeler, Travis Douce, Trey Aycock, Jimmy Savage, Wayne Savage, and Brian Boles. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Camden and Ashton Aycock and Brayden Wehunt. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 2 p.m.

Lord and Stephens West, Watkinsville, is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
