Obituary for Charles Landers

Charles Joseph Landers passed away peacefully on January 20, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Joe was a native Georgian, having been raised in High Shoals and educated at the University of Georgia where he graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. He was a volunteer for a number of years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home in Atlanta and in his later years volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens. He is best remembered as an avid Dawgs fan and could always be counted on to rally the troops for a resounding “bark”.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00PM at the funeral home.

He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Landers, Jr. of Marietta, and Christopher (Alisha) Landers of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Kelsey, Zane, Ava, Abi and CJ Landers; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
