Obituary for William "Bill" Andrew Akin

William “Bill” Andrew Akin, 72, of Bogart, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017.
Born in Griffin, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Akin and Betty East Akin (Honey). Mr. Akin graduated from North Georgia College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he was a Ranger and served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Akin deeply loved his Labrador Retrievers: Sally, Peaches and Huckleberry. After a distinguished career as an accountant, he enjoyed owning and operating a sports photography business, SkyHawk Sports Photography.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Tillis Akin; two step-children, Brian McClintock and Bonny Lynn; numerous exchange students that he loved and fathered; one brother, Michael Akin and one granddaughter, Megan McClintock.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10:00 am at Lord and Stephens, West.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, 3343 Peachtree Road, NE #M20, Atlanta, GA 30326.
