Obituary for Bob Norris

Robert H. “Bob” Norris, 80, husband of 57 years to Betty Wilkes Norris, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017. A native and life long resident of Oconee County, he was the son of the late Alvin Hoke Norris and Louise Higginbotham Norris and brother to the late Billy P. Norris and Walter R. Norris. Bob retired from Bells Food Stores after 50 years of loyal service and was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He served his country for eight years in the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged. Survivors in addition to his wife include three children: Amy (Chuck) Arlt of Bogart, Alisa Schultz of Athens, Andy (Kay) Norris of Watkinsville and two grandchildren, Adam and Anna Arlt. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2 PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Rob Bray officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 16 from 4 until 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethabara Baptist Church.
