Obituary for William Grimes

William Paul (Jule) Grimes, 87, of Crawford, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
He was born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia on July 5, 1930, and was the son of the late George Godfrey Grimes and Carrie Mae Davis Grimes. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Kennebrew Grimes, his sister, Beatrice Stokely, and brother, George Grimes.
Mr. Grimes was employed at Jefferson Mills for 54 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working on his cattle farm and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Gene Grimes (Gail) of McDonough, Ray Grimes of Crawford, and daughter, Peggy Peterman of Simpsonville, South Carolina, his sister, Martha Faust of Crawford and brother, Amos Grimes of Fayetteville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chris Grimes (Carrie) of Cumming, Marc Grimes (Mandy) of Loganville and Lauren Ross (Scott) of Smyrna, Russ Peterman (Lynn) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Scott Peterman (Lori) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Greg Peterman (Paula) of Charlotte, North Carolina and Eric Peterman (Karen) of Lake Wylie, South Carolina. He is survived by 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The visitation will be at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home (East) on December 8th from 5:00-7:00 pm with graveside services at Crawford Cemetery on Saturday, December 9th at 12:00 pm.
