Obituary for Verner Hammond

Born June 11, 1926, in Colbert Georgia, died November 13, 2017, Bishop Georgia, at 91 years young.
His father was M.E. Hammond, mother was Mamie Lou Normand of Colbert Georgia. Verner served honorably in the Merchant Marines in WWII. He was a member and Deacon of Popular Springs Baptist Church, a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great – great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Mildred Hammond, children; Barbera Bunch, Mickey Lord, Linda Watson, Gail Venerable, and Phillip Lord. He has 8 Grand Children, 12 Great Grand Children, and 4 Great - Great Grand Children. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, West. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-12:00. Burial will follow the service at Apalachee Prior Cemetery in Morgan County.
