Condolences

Condolence From: Jennifer Lewis
Condolence: Joe was an institution at UGA and will be greatly missed. He was the bright spot before 20 years of road trips and never failed to admonish us to "Be good, now!" He kept us safe as we explored Georgia. I always admired his attention to detail, his systematic methodology, his collection of found objects, and his devotion to his long-lived office plant draped from the ceiling grid by paper clips. Joe will never, ever be forgotten. My heart goes out to Felicia, Linda and Jamie, and his family, and hope that we all share stories of Joe for years to come.

Condolence: Joe was one of my favorite people on Earth. He was an amazing spirit and the most genuine person you could ever meet. I was always eager to go to the Automotive Center because I knew Joe would be there. Go rest high Joe, it's not goodbye, it's see you later. Kim Vachon UGA Athletics

Condolence: My deepest sympathy. Joe always stopped to speak to me at UGA Supplies & Materials when he came over. I have missed his friendly personality since I retired.

Condolence: I loved seeing Joe at the motor pool. If I close my eyes I can hear his voice. It is strange how people imprint on our minds. Joe and the the longest philodendron that encircled his little office will always be a part of my time at UGA. He always knew who I was and would ask about other people he knew I knew. I hope his family knows how much he will be missed and how his laughter, kindness, and jokes made our days brighter. He could always make me smile even on days that I found it very difficult.

Condolence: To his family I want to say Joe was one of the kindest humans I've ever known. His passing fills me with great sadness. I'm a retired professor at the University of Georgia. The Facebook pages are filling with notes of grief about losing him. He is a legend in our lives. Thank you for sharing him with us all these years. He treated us all like family.
