Obituary for Robert Lee Moore

Robert Lee Moore
Robert (Bob) Moore 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Oct. 18, 2017. Robert was born in Macon, Ms., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Moore. He attended Houston High School, Houston, Ms. and Mississippi State University receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. He worked as a civil service engineer for the US Air Force in Warner Robins, Ga., Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Ok. and spent the last 23 years of his career as an aerospace engineer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Headquarters, Dayton, Ohio. He was awarded Outstanding Engineer of the Year in 1978 by the Air Force Association for his work as an airframe engineer on the development of an advanced tanker/cargo aircraft. His outstanding abilities contributed directly to the successful accomplishment of the preliminary and critical design reviews of the structure of the KC-10A and the advanced aerial refueling boom needed to increase the long-range capability of Air Force strategic airlift.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Lucretia and two children, Angela Hill of Athens, Ga. and a son, Rob of Cincinnati, Oh. He also leaves four wonderful grandchildren, Captains Maxwell and Lauren Hill of Colorado Springs, Co., Madison Hill of Mississippi State University, Keller and Hailey Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Robert was a member of the Watkinsville First United Methodist Church of Watkinsville, Ga. His deep faith in God was evident in the way he lived his life-with unbending integrity and honesty.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 26, at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church, 1331 High Shoals Road Watkinsville, Ga. at 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
