Obituary for Wayne Gordon Gaddis

Wayne Gordon  Gaddis
Wayne Gordon Gaddis, 73, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017.
A lifelong resident of Athens, he was a son of the late Howard Gaddis and Mattie Parish Gaddis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and James Gaddis; one sister, Lavonia Horton and one granddaughter, Abigail Chambers.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Charles Pilgrim (Rita), Roger Pilgrim (Rita) and Tammy Chambers (Sam); close friend, Sue Gaddis; two sisters, Imogene Atkinson, who was also Wayne’s caregiver and Ruth Peedin; eight grandchildren, Amy Casper, Pamela Pilgrim, Brandy Pilgrim, Roger Pilgrim Jr., Wayne Pilgrim, Shane Pilgrim, Austin Chambers and Justin Chambers; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East. Interment will follow at Bethabara Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
