Obituary for Van W. Landers

Van W. Landers, 94, died September 20, 2017.

A native of High Shoals, GA, he was a son of the late Charles Otto and Myrt Anthony Landers. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Landers; two daughters, Julie Griffeth and Kim Moore; grandson, Marshall Fuqua; four brothers and one sister.

Mr. Landers was a resident for Thompson’s Farm for many years, where he loved fishing and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face.

Memorial services will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Landers; daughter, Barbara (Charlie) Root of Watkinsville; stepchildren, Glen (Christy) McGahee of Watkinsville, Rev. Terry (Liz) Freeman of Murfeesboro, TN, Karen (Rev. Gary) Simpson of Thomasville, GA and Lisa (Ted) Kotson of Ft. Bragg, NC; brother, Joe Landers of Athens; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
