Obituary for Polly Ruth White (Newton)

Polly Newton White, daughter of deceased parents Bob and Charlotte Newton of Maxeys, GA, died on Tuesday, September 19, after a lifelong battle with myotonic dystrophy. She graduated from Oglethorpe County High School in 1984 and attended Reinhardt College. Polly was married to Thomas White in December 1986, and they have resided in Arcade GA for the last 20 years.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 22, from 11-12:30 at Lord and Stephens East followed by a graveside service at 1PM at Sunset Cemetery in Maxeys GA. The family encourages donations to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 222 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 1500, Chicago IL 60606 in lieu of flowers.

Polly is survived by her husband, Thomas White, and two sisters, Melanie Newton Williams and Nan Newton Demsky, nieces and nephews, Elliot, Sam, and Shyann Demsky, Haley Williams Reed and Howell Williams, and Robert Anderson.

Pallbearers are Bobby Anderson, Dan Demsky, Elliot Demsky, Sam Demsky, and Alan Williams.
