Obituary for Lorraine Morgan (Bromley)

Lorraine Bromley Morgan was born in Hohenwald, Tennessee on November 22, 1935 to John Wesley and Sallie Cleo Dabbs Bromley. The youngest of six children and only girl, she stayed in Hohenwald until her father’s death in 1941. Not long afterwards she moved to Oxford Pennsylvania where she spent the remainder of her childhood with her oldest brother and his wife Dot.

After graduating High School she met the love of her life, Roderick “Rod” Arthur Morgan Sr. whom she married January 29, 1956 with whom she has loved and cared for for 61 years. She has one son Roderick Arthur Morgan, Jr. and a daughter Deborah Morgan Foresman.

Lorraine always loved her family above all and did whatever it took to be there for them; always putting herself second. A lover of nature and gardens, wherever she went the flowers followed to give life to new ground. With a green thumb they always thrived. Although no well known by all, she had a talent for painting and left behind for the world to enjoy and remember her by.

A natural red head, Lorraine, had the feistiness to match: All who knew her knew she would speak her mind, occasionally uttering truly classic lines which all those who heard them will remember. An intelligent women (although she would deny it) who was loving, hard-working and compassionate as well as talented. None whoever knew her will ever forget her.

Lorraine passed from the mortals bonds of earth and was received by her Heavenly Father whom she never doubted existed on July 31, 2017 at her home in Watkinsville Ga surrounded by family and close friends. She is survived her husband Rod, a son Rod Jr, a daughter, Deborah, and her husband Henry J. “Hank” Foresman, Jr., beloved grandson Tyler, granddaughter Tamera Afsar, great granddaughter Madison Afsar, sisters-in-law Elaine Bromley, Ginny Bromley, Jean Viviano, Betty Winters and numerous nieces and nephews. Many fur children will miss her kindness and love.

In death she is now reunited with all whom she loved and who loved her including her brothers, her parents, and her childhood dog, friend and protector Ol’ Budger.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Union Christian Church. Burial will be private.

Lord and Stephens, West is in charge of arrangements.
