Obituary for Annie Laurie Lowery (Taylor)

Annie Laurie Taylor Lowery, 97, of Athens, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017.
Affectionately known as “Nanny”, Mrs. Lowery was a daughter of the late Mitchell Franklin Taylor and Sally Grubbs Taylor. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. Most importantly, she loved her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Benjamin Lowery.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay Lowery Strickland; one sister, Esther Virginia Taylor Houck; three grandchildren, Richard Todd Strickland (Amy), Kelly Strickland Gruhn (Jaye) and Jeffrey Matthew Strickland (Ellen); five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lord and Stephens, East. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center East, Ste 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
