Obituary for James Clifton Foster

James Clifton Foster, 94, of Watkinsville, Georgia, passed away June 17, 2017.

Cliff was the son of A.L. Foster and Ethel Foster of Heiskell, Tennessee. One of nine children, his only surviving sibling, Dorothy Bacon, lives in St. Augustine, Florida. Other survivors include sons, Gary E. Foster and wife, Kathleen, of Athens, Georgia and Ronald Suggs and wife, Paula, of Washington, Georgia. Cliff’s legacy includes seven grandchildren, eleven greats and one great-great grandchild. Preceding Cliff in death is his wife of 62 years, Shirley and their daughter, Deborah.

Cliff served in the Army Medical Corp from 1943-1945. Upon his return to Atlanta, Georgia, he began a lifelong career in the automotive industry. He retired to Fayetteville, Georgia in 1981 and moved to Watkinsville in 2006.

Memorial services for Cliff will be held at 1:30, Saturday, July 29 at the Glade Baptist Church, Carlton, Georgia.
