Obituary for Willie Raymond Epps Sr.

Willie Raymond  Epps Sr.
Willie Raymond Epps Sr., 93, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
Born in Winterville, he was the son of the late Willie Richard Epps and Frances Dover Epps. Mr. Epps was a longtime member of New Covenant Worship Center, where he served as a Deacon for over 15 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served for six years during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Parks Epps and Carl Lee Epps and one sister, Edna Epps Rogers.
Survivors include his wife of almost 74 years, Lois Green Epps; two children, Frances E. Purcell and Willie Raymond Epps Jr. (Susan); six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2017 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm.
